Overview

Are you self-employed, or do you have a great idea for a business but don’t know where to start? Statistics show that there is a rising number of people wishing to be freelance or self- employed but how do you negotiate the financial side of your business and stay on top of your finances?

The number of self-employed in the UK has increased from 3.3 million people (12.0% of the labour force) in 2001 to 4.8 million (15.1% of the labour force) in 2017. This short, self-paced module gives you the skills to choose the most appropriate digital application, the ability to prepare and submit a digital tax return and will give you the confidence to become self-employed.

Programme

Unit One: What we can do and what is not achievable in this module. Being prepared and organised.

Unit Two: Time management and forecasting.

Unit Three: Using computer aided programmes such as QuickBooks or a similar generic programme to prepare your tax returns.

Unit Four: Reflections and forecasting.

Learning Outcomes
