Rewarding Our Graduates with Tuition Fee Discounts for Postgraduate Study 

At Aberystwyth University, we are proud of our strong community and encourage our international graduates to continue their academic journey with us. The AberGrad International Scholarship is here to support your next steps with a £2,000 tuition fee discount, for every year of study, for students who are applying to continue a postgraduate degree programme with us (including Masters and PhD) in the academic year immediately following Bachelor's graduation from Aber.

The AberGrad International Scholarship is available to international students who hold at least a 2:2 undergraduate degree from Aberystwyth University and are applying for a campus-based programme.  

You do not need to apply separately for this Scholarship, we are committed to supporting our graduates, so it is automatically awarded and applied to eligible students upon enrolment.

Who is Eligible?

  • Applicants must be 2027 graduates of Aberystwyth University who have achieved a 2:2 or above in their Undergraduate degree.  
  • International fee-paying Aberystwyth University graduates are eligible.  
  • Applicants can combine the AberGrad International scholarship with Global Citizens Scholarship and International Accommodation Award so long as the combined amount does not exceed 50% of the proposed Masters tuition fees.
  • Staff candidates are not eligible.
  • AberGrad International scholarship is not applicable if the applicant is getting external funding/scholarship (not including loans).
  • Eligible courses include campus-based Taught Masters, MRes, MPhil, LLM by Research (full-time and part-time) and PhD.
  • Must be admitted to an eligible postgraduate course at Aberystwyth University. 
  • Must meet standard academic entry requirements for their chosen programme of study. 
  • You must have applied for a relevant course by 31st July 2027

How to Apply

  • There is no separate application form needed for the AberGrad International Scholarship. 
  • During your application for your degree course, you will automatically be assessed and granted the scholarship provided you meet all the eligibility criteria. 
  • Eligibility is determined based on the fee-paying status and details submitted in your Aberystwyth university application. 

Terms & Conditions 

  • To be eligible for the AberGrad International Scholarship, you must submit your application to study directly to the University, without using the services of an education agent. If you need support or have questions, please contact the international recruitment team international@aber.ac.uk.
  • You must be classed as an international fee-payer to be eligible for the AberGrad Scholarship 
  • You must be admitted to an eligible postgraduate course at Aberystwyth University.  
  • You must meet standard academic entry requirements for your chosen programme of study.  
  • You must have applied for a relevant course by the specified deadline. 
  • Discounts are applied directly to annual tuition fees. 
  • The scholarship discount is applied annually for the standard duration of the registered course, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and retains their international fee-paying status. 
  • This award applies to tuition fees only and cannot be used to cover accommodation, living costs, or miscellaneous university expenses.  
  • You must have completed the full duration of the course you are on, i.e. you should not have withdrawn before completing your studies.
  • The University reserves the right to vary all or any awards, discounts and regulations at its sole discretion.
