Offer Holder - Frequently Asked Questions

What is an offer holder?

An offer holder means that you’ve applied to study at Aberystwyth University and have received a conditional or unconditional offer.

A Conditional offer means that you must meet certain conditions before you can secure your place on you chosen course. An Unconditional offer means that you’ve met the entry requirements for your chosen course.

How do I accept my offer?

UCAS Applications: If you’ve applied through UCAS, you can accept your offer by logging into UCAS Hub. It is important that you reply to your offers by the deadline specified by UCAS. You can respond to your offers once you have received decisions from all the universities you have applied to. You can only accept one firm choice and one insurance choice (if you choose to have one). You must decline all other offers. If you firmly accept an Unconditional offer, then all your other choices must be declined. If you firmly accept a Conditional offer, then you have the option to choose another of your offers as your Insurance choice.

Direct Applications: If you’ve applied to us directly, you will need to respond by completing the Offer Reply Form included in your offer letter.

What is a Firm and Insurance choice?

Your Firm choice is the university and course you most want to attend.

Your Insurance choice is your backup option in case you don’t meet the conditions of your Firm offer.

When do I need to reply to my offer?

UCAS Application: Once you’ve received decisions from all of your university choices, your reply deadline will be noted in your UCAS Hub. Please see the UCAS website for more information.

Direct Applications: Please contact our Admissions Team for more information.

Can I defer my offer?

Yes, deferrals are allowed, for one year.  You can request to defer when completing  your UCAS application or by contacting us after receiving an offer. However, we are unable to accept deferral requests for our Nursing courses.
