International Foundation Programme in Humanities & Social Sciences

The International Foundation Programme in Humanities & Social Sciences, delivered on campus by Aberystwyth University and recruited globally through our partnership with David Game College, provides international students with a high-quality pathway into UK higher education.

Through this collaboration, learners worldwide can access opportunities at Aberystwyth University, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition into undergraduate study in disciplines such as International Politics, Theatre, Film & Television Studies, and Law & Criminology.

Programme Overview

The Humanities & Social Sciences pathway equips students with critical thinking, creativity, and analytical skills needed to succeed in their chosen degree programmes. You will receive approximately 20 hours of weekly contact time, including seminars and tutorials, and will be encouraged to participate in pair work, group activities, discussions, presentations, and case studies.

A variety of teaching methods are used to support different learning styles. Alongside lectures, seminars, tutorials, and classroom activities, tutors will encourage you to provide feedback and share your academic interests, which can be integrated into your learning experience.

Alongside Academic English seminars, you will select one module in either International Relations & Politics, Theatre, Film & Television Studies, or Law & Criminology. This module provides the foundation needed to progress to undergraduate study in your chosen academic field.
