Brochure Text

"The best work that anybody ever writes is the work that is on the verge of embarrassing him, always" Arthur Miller.

So much of our best writing grows out of unselfconscious experimentation. Yet all too often fear and self-criticism get in the way of us achieving our best work. Fear can even stop us writing completely. In this course we will be exploring ways of overcoming fear and other barriers to writing. In a safe, supportive environment, we will be using a series of exercises, readings and discussions to explore how the writer can be bolder, take more risks and tap into the ‘magic’ of our own innate creativity. The workshops (10 hours in total) are supported by ten hours distance learning where students will produce their written work and receive detailed formative feedback of both work-in-progress and the completed assignment.
