The Careers Service is here to help you understand how you can make your university degree, and all the experiences open to you whilst at University, count towards your future career.

Contact Us

Due to the current situation with the coronavirus, all our services are now being offered remotely through technology until further notice. To book an appointment slot or to send a specific query, access our on-line portal ABERcareers and use the Book tab or Queries button to contact us.  Alternatively call us on 01970 622378 or email careers@aber.ac.uk in the first instance. We will respond to any electronic enquiries within three working days. If your query requires a more in-depth response you may be referred to a Careers Consultant for a guidance appointment. Until further notice, such guidance appointments will be conducted over the phone and via Skype/MS Teams only.

Student Employability Manager

Sue manages, facilitates and implements the front-line services of the department to all students and graduates of the University.  She also organises and provides careers advice and information to students and graduates.  In addition she monitors budget lines and departmental finances on an on-going basis.

Summer is responsible for facilitating and implementing the front-line services of the department to all students and graduates of the University.  She is also responsible for resourcing and inputting vacancies on to ABERcareers as well as ensuring that a broad range of relevant and current information resources are readily available for our students and graduates.

Employer Engagement Team

Gwen Adams
Employability Manager

Gwen has overall responsibility for the employer engagement work undertaken by the Careers Service, designed to inform, encourage and support the development of self-awareness, employability and career-planning skills. Her role involves overseeing employer liaison work to negotiate and provide quality work experience opportunities and participation in on-campus events, and the coordination of AberForward, a unique programme of employability initiatives combining training and a work placement, all with the clear aim of helping Aberystwyth University students and graduates to feel confident and ready to meet the challenges of the graduate job market.

Careers Consultant

James is the Careers Consultant for IBERS with responsibility for courses ranging from agriculture to zoology.  He delivers lectures, workshops, events, individual consultations and interactive group sessions to ensure that all students benefit from careers education, information and guidance support.  He is also responsible for co-ordinating developments within ABERcareers, the Careers Service’s vacancies and events portal.
