Teifi pre-restoration monitoring
The aim of this 2 year CCW-funded project is to establish a set of
baseline conditions on the Afon Teifi at Tregaron Bog prior to the
implementaion of a proposed river channel restoration scheme.
Two telemetered water quality/flow monitoring stations have been
established at the up- and downstream ends of the 1.5 km study reach
and 12 groundwater monitoring boreholes have been drilled. In addition,
topographical channel bed surveys and macrophyte surveys have been
conducted to establsih a detailed database of the physical and
biological characteristics of the reach prior to restoration.
