Finalists

Your final year is a crucial time for you to make your plans for a successful transition to the graduate labour market or for applying for postgraduate study. Follow these steps to help you through the process.

Discuss your career development plans

Whether you know exactly what you are doing after graduation, or have some ideas but want to talk them through or have no idea what to do after graduation come and see us in the Careers Service to see how we can support you. You may also have ideas about starting your own business/social enterprise or working as a freelancer. See Starting a Business/Social Enterprising or Freelancing for details of the support available to help with enterprise and business start-up.

Apply for graduate level employment or postgraduate study

Students often secure graduate level jobs during their final year so you need to start checking application deadlines and research companies of interest to you. The Careers Service has a vacancy database, ABERcareers, to help you source vacancies. Or check out the Subject Specific pages if you are seeking something related to your degree discipline.

Get support with the job application process

The job application process can seem quite daunting when you first start but the Careers Service can support you through each stage of the application process from completing application forms to attending interviews and assessment centres. The Service hosts a variety of workshops and employer talks to help you make applications, attend interviews and assessment centres. See ABERcareers for the latest events.
