You will sit your exams in one of our teaching and learning spaces and complete your exam online.

Our team of Student Ambassadors will take you to the exam room and be available to show you back to the International Politics Building at the end of each exam if you need to regroup with an accompanying family member/ friend.

How will the online exams work?

Our invigilators will provide guidance on how the exams will run and the processes you need to follow.

You should already have activated your unique Aberystwyth University account using the link sent to the email address provided on your UCAS application form.  If you haven’t activated this account please do this as soon as possible.  Please bring this log in information with you on the day as you will need this in the exam room to access Aberystwyth University’s online learning environment called Blackboard.

If you have forgotten your password or wish to reset this please contact in advance of the exam. If you have any queries on the day of the exams, please speak with our registration team.   The invigilators will explain how to log in when you get to the exam room.

At the end of the exam you will submit your answers online via Blackboard.  The steps you will need to take are explained in this Guidance for Applicants document.  Copies of these guidance notes will be available in the exam room and invigilators will be available to assist.

What if I have special examination requirements?

Candidates who have specific examination requirements for their normal school examinations (e.g. extra time) must submit with their application an email from their school confirming their requirements. Without this supporting evidence we will be unable to allow special considerations.  Eligible candidates may be entitled to 25% extra time, and arrangements as per normal school examinations, please see our policy on making reasonable adjustments for applicants sitting the Entrance Examinations.

If you have special examination requirements and have not already informed the University of this, please contact our Scholarship team immediately so appropriate arrangements can be put in place prior to your visit to Aberystwyth (email: scholarships@aber.ac.uk).
