On completion of the module, students should be able to:
- relate the structure of plant and animal tissues to their function
- demonstrate a basic understanding of homeostatic mechanisms, list the main physiological systems in animals and give a basic explanation of their function.
The curriculum will include the following.
The physiology of photosynthesis in terrestrial plants and some aspects of its control.
Transport of materials in plants.
Basic aspects of animal physiology including
Homeostasis and feedback control.
Sensory, integrative and effector systems.
Ventilation and gas exchange
Osmoregulation and excretion.
