On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
1. Use your knowledge of physiology, psychology and biomechanics (where relevant) to solve a client based problem.
2. Assess, evaluate, and prescribe an intervention to meet a client’s need in a sport or exercise setting to enhance health or performance.
3. Demonstrate the practical skills and techniques required to monitor and evaluate participants in a health or performance context.
4. Demonstrate and awareness of health and safety, risk assessment and ethical considerations.
5. Solve problems of a numerical and logical nature.
6. Communicate information in both written and oral formats to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
7. Gather and use information from a range of sources.
The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the application of knowledge across sport and exercise science. This Level two module takes a multi-disciplinary, thematic approach.
Develop the application of sport & exercise science to a chosen theme
Examine topics from physiology, biomechanics and psychology perspectives and apply them in workshops
Use research evidence to explore issues and topics
Reflect on ethics and risk in the practice of a sport and exercise scientist as well as own individual performance and need for future improvement
