  4. Communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions relating to qualitative data for academic audiences

Introduces key psychological theories and concepts (e.g., motivation, arousal, self-efficacy) relevant to sport and exercise settings. Supports understanding of how psychological factors influence performance, participation, and well-being. Encourages students to make connections between psychology and other core disciplines such as physiology, biomechanics, and coaching. Fosters empathy and interpersonal awareness, vital for coaching, leadership, and applied practice.

To equip students with the knowledge and practical skills to apply psychological theories in promoting active lifestyles and optimising sport performance—valuable for careers in sport psychology, health promotion, and exercise consultancy.
