Reflect on their own practices and observations in relation to the learning environment
This module will outline the characteristics of an effective learning environment. It will evaluate the design, organization and management of learning environments and assess the role of the practitioner in developing and maintaining and effective learning environments. The module will delve into the pedagogical theories that underpin effective learning environments and offer students the opportunity to critically evaluate the impact of the learning environment on learners, through a work placement portfolio.
Week 2- Inclusive learning environments
Week 3- Professional practice and preparation for placements.
Week 4- Theoretical perspectives of effective learning environments 1
Week 5- Theoretical perspectives of effective learning environments 2
Week 6- Practical approaches to designing learning environments
Week 7- Interactions between environment, the practitioner, and the learner
Week 8- Risk assessment and safety
Week 9- Outdoor learning environments.
Week 10- Reflecting on placement observations and assignment support.
