Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:
- 1. You will demonstrate a specialist knowledge of issues relating to the common Indo-European origin of the Celtic languages
- 2. You will demonstrate a specialist knowledge of the development of the phonology, morphology, and syntax of the Celtic languages.
- 3. You will have an advanced understanding of scholarly debates concerning the development and relationship of the attested Celtic languages
Disgrifiad cryno
Comparative phonology and morphology of the Insular Celtic languages and the Celtic languages of the Continent. The students will learn about the relationship between the languages and with other European languages, and about developments in their phonology, morphology and syntax
Cynnwys
A series of 20 lectures on different aspects of comparative Celtic philology (phonology, morphology of the noun, morphology of the verb, syntax, the history of the discipline etc.).
