Canlyniadau Dysgu

Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:

Critically evaluate the role of a range of Coaching and Mentoring techniques as an element of effective leadership and management.
Display a conceptual and practical appreciation of Coaching and Mentoring in a broader context including parallels with other fields such as sports coaching.
Demonstrate the ability to utilise appropriate Coaching and Mentoring methodology to prepare and undertake an effective Coaching session in the workplace.

Disgrifiad cryno

Students will develop a critical appreciation of the utilisation of Coaching in Organisations and how and when it can be effectively and appropriately used by middle and senior Managers. They will also be given ample opportunity to develop and improve their own Coaching skills through supported practice, self-reflection and group discussions on the benefits, applications and potential pitfalls of Coaching. Assessment of the module will be through a written assignment and also through a reflective journal and practical coaching exercise.

Cynnwys

This module will be delivered in 2 x 2 day teaching blocks a month apart followed by a fifth day for the practical assessment and overall module review.

Cyfathrebu	Verbal communication skills will be covered as a fundamental element of Coaching and Mentoring and the ability to write academically at an advanced level will be assessed through the written assignment
Datblygu personol a chynllunio gyrfa	This module will support current and potential leaders through the acquisition of a range of leadership skills including delegation, empowerment and the development of high functioning teams.
Datrys Problemau	The ability to select and develop appropriate Coaching techniques for particular workplace scenarios and to effectively support and challenge Coachees to identify and implement positive actions.
Gwaith Tim	Within the Organisational context of this module, the ability of Leaders to support and develop their teams to expedite effective solutions is a key element
Sgiliau ymchwil	Identification and assimilation of relevant academic and organisational evidence, particularly in support of the written assignment
