Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:
- 1. Identify the structures, and functions, of the main physiological systems of the human body.
- 2. Study the relationship between sport and exercise activities and interventions in a range of groups in various settings.
- 3. Monitor and evaluate participants in health and performance contexts.
- 4. Identify health and safety, risk assessment and ethical considerations.
- 5. Appropriately evaluate sources of information.
- 6. Construct critical reviews on a range of topics based on a range of information sources.
- 7. Gather and use information from a range of sources.
Disgrifiad cryno
This module is concerned with how the physiological systems of the body respond during a bout of exercise and how the performance of the body can be changed by regular physical training. Laboratory work will include the investigation of acute responses to exercise and the development of skills in ‘fitness testing’ (e.g. protocols for the assessment of anaerobic power and maximal oxygen uptake). By analyzing different types of sport and exercise activities students will be able to apply physiological principles to practical situations ranging from exercising for health to physical training for enhanced athletic performance.

To deepen students’ understanding of physiological responses to exercise and how these principles can be applied to optimize performance and health. To provide hands-on experience with advanced testing and analysis techniques in physiology, preparing graduates for careers in sport science, health promotion, and performance consultancy.
