  2. Evaluate the complexity of and interrelationships between various aspects and sectors of the animal health industry.

Disgrifiad cryno

This intensive international study tour will focus on students gaining experience and understanding of animal health challenges in non-UK countries. This module will integrate concepts from prior modules to provide real-world examples during day trips to locations with exotic, equine and other animals. Students will research the national differences that impact animal health in areas such as industry standards, pathogens, animal use, breeds, and endemic wildlife and present their understanding via written and video-recorded material.

Cynnwys

A major component of this module is an intensive international 7-day study tour. The country and visits on the study tour destination may differ from year-to-year but may include, Zoos, equine training centres, wildlife rehabilitation centres, veterinary hospitals, animal health-related industries and more.

Online lectures and other material released prior to the study tour will provide guidance about study tour destination and tours and a series of workshop sessions will also be run in Aberystwyth upon returning to the UK to aid in coursework submission.

The module will achieve the learning outcomes by covering a variety of areas which may include:
Animal health challenges relating to breed differences and animal use
Differences in biosecurity relating to endemic pathogens and animal use
Differences in industry legislation and regulations
Differences in animal health challenges relating to climate
