Canlyniadau Dysgu
Wedi cwblhau'r modiwl dylai'r myfyrwyr fedru:
- Demonstrate ability to use a range of relevant research methods and techniques;
- Be able to organize their research within the given frameworks (time management, structuring);
- Formulate a research question that is of appropriate scope and depth for this dissertation;
- Critically read scholarship in their field of study in the target language;
- Structure arguments in a coherent and convincing manner, showing awareness of key issues;
- Write a dissertation in compliance with the formal requirements of the discipline, including referencing and bibliography.
- Analytical and linguistic skills will be developed together. The SH dissertation will be written in the target language.
- Internet research skills will be an essential part of the students' work
Disgrifiad cryno
Dissertation on a chosen topic, arising from modules taken previously or being taken concurrently, Year Abroad modules or own initiative. Topics are chosen in collaboration with the module convenor and the individual supervisor.
Nod
The SH Dissertation module is the concluding element of the single honors degree in a modern language. It is the opportunity for students to showcase their understanding of the history and culture of the target language and of the countries where it is spoken. Written in the target language to a high standard of fluency, students can demonstrate their ability to present research and structure arguments convincingly.

Important dates during the year are:
- before week 2 of teaching: contacting potential supervisor and module convenor with possible topic

- before week 5: agreement on the topic
- last week of teaching in December: submission of research proposal and scheduling of presentations for all students on the module
- submission: week before summer exam period
