The aim of the module is to present the most progressive ideas about the geographies of nationalism to students. In the first five lectures, students are introduced to the idea of ​​nationalism and theoretical understandings of it in particular. This section emphasizes the need to think about the nation as a social and spatial entity that has been created on the basis of networks of people and various things. In the second half of the module, the implications of this idea are discussed for five discussion topics of academic and policy importance in the field of nationalism: the process of creating or building nations; the link between nationalism and citizenship; multiculturalism and minority rights; populism; affect, art and the nation.
