Disgrifiad cryno

This mental health field specific module revisits key concepts underpinning nursing, medicines management, professional practice and holistic person centred care. The focus will be on examining the learning journey so far and critically exploring readiness to become autonomous registered professionals with the confidence to deliver safe and effective holistic person centred adult nursing care.

Cynnwys

This module prepares the students for working in a competitive employment marketplace and assists them in consolidating their understanding of professional practice by further equipping them with the skills required for securing employment and for complying with professional regulation requirements

The module will include:
Prescriber ready preparation
Practice Supervisor training
Mandatory e-learning
Writing and maintaining a CV and revalidation portfolio
Interview skills and unconscious bias
Political awareness
Managing budgets
Emotional intelligence and resilience
Assessing, escalating and recording risk
Managing conflict
Promoting wellbeing
Clinical scenarios which are specific to adult/mental health field of nursing
Clinical Supervision skills

In addition, the module will also focus on nurturing competence and confidence in students’ clinical abilities when demonstrating nursing skills within clinical practice placements, focusing on:
· clinical skill development/maintenance
· maintenance of All Wales passports (e.g. Manual Handling/Violence and Aggression) – updating when required
· clinical learning requirements
· practice supervision/assessment
· clinical assessments
· PAD use/evidencing work-based achievements
· Leading clinical care delivery

Addasrwydd a gwydnwch	This module will encourage students to reflect on their learning journey to date and will note their achievement and skills in becoming an autonomous practitioner. Through ongoing learning activities, scenarios, discussions and practicals, students will identify the changes in their approaches to clinical situations over the past three years and will be required to maintain their abilities in being adaptable and flexible.
Cydlynu ag erail	In this module, students will continue to advance their abilities in professional coordination. Whilst being on the cusp of graduating, students will demonstrate their abilities of coordination and communication, reflecting back on their skills and their learning journey in becoming an autonomous practitioner.
Cyfathrebu proffesiynol	Students will be required to maintain a high standard of professional communication skills within their everyday practice, and within this module students will be encouraged to reflect on their learning journey, noting their progression into becoming autonomous practitioners. They will be expected to continue to participate in discussions, debates, mock interviews and other learning activities in order to further advance their communication abilities. They will produce a written CV – promoting
Datrys Problemau Creadigol	This module will reflect back on the student’s learning journey so far, identifying the knowledge and skills they have learnt to date, noting their progression from absolute beginner to nurse novice status. Students will be encouraged to consider that nursing will always be a profession requiring continuous learning and development, which will need them to draw on their tool kit of skills to address any clinical situation presented to them.
Gallu digidol	This module will require the students to continue to use/and learn how to:• use blackboard/E-pad• access lectures remotely and participate accordingly• know how to search electronic databases • use the library’s electronic catalogue• submit work electronically• complete Safe Medicate exam online
Meddwl beirniadol a dadansoddol	This module will further underline the importance of displaying critical and analytical thinking within clinical environments. Advancements of knowledge and understanding will require practitioners to constantly appraise new and different ways of working, and students will be required to demonstrate their abilities of this within different learning activities and written work.
Myfyrdod	Reflection will continue to be promoted within this module. During the third year, the clinical supervision groups are expected to be self-managed, with groups’ participants being autonomous and leading their reflective discussions. Within this module, students will complete a final assignment, reflecting on their learning journey in becoming an autonomous practitioner. In addition, NMC revalidation will require the students to write five pieces of reflection, demonstrating how a CPD

Synnwyr byd go iawn	Both theory and practice are equally weighted within nursing curricula, meaning that it is important that classroom subjects are applicable within the practicable nature of the clinical environment, thus giving the taught component a real-world sense.
