Brief description

The ability to access electronic information resources worldwide via the Web, the advent of electronic document delivery systems and the emergence of electronic journals are just some of the recent developments that affect all users and seekers of information and, particularly, LIS professionals. LIS staff have to make access to such services available to their users and to be able to integrate them with the management of local library holdings. It is necessary for LIS professionals to be aware of current developments and to be able to implement appropriate systems in their place of work and then make users aware of relevant services and information sources. This module will cover such developments through a mixture of practical exercises, seminars and lectures.
