Overview

Are you interested in art but not sure how or where to start? Or maybe you are returning to the art world and have lost confidence, or you want a challenge, to learn new skills, and that in a relaxing atmosphere. This course gives learners the opportunity to explore, learn and develop the basic skills of art which include sketching (pencil, charcoal and ink) and painting (a touch of swirl, acrylic and collage). This course will provide learners with an opportunity to experiment with a variety of media and learn about their different properties in a friendly and relaxing environment. There will be focus tasks to introduce techniques, ideas for short projects and an opportunity to extend and practice your new favourite skill to create a piece of artwork. There will also be an introduction to artistic terms and different media.
