Overview
This short, online course allows you to dip your toes in, and be creative with, watercolour. You will be encouraged to ‘have a go ‘and ‘let go’- that is when the magic happens. We will look at artists such as JMW Turner and contemporary and Sandra Blow. Emphasis will be on technique of wet-on-wet rather than drawing skills. When we play and experiment - learning happens quicker! You will need to buy basic materials; please read the introductory letter upon enrolment; this will give you a list of the essential materials.
Programme
Units will have demonstrations and then tasks with extended activities for those who enjoy one aspect of a watercolour technique.
Unit One: Wet-on-wet and saturation - what does it all mean? Chroma, Hue and granulation - the magic of working with water Contextual studies.

Unit Three: Charging and colour mixing. Freeing up. Topic Aurora Borealis.
Unit Four: Darks that aren't black. Colour mixes; opaque colours and working on tinted paper.
