Training and Support
The E-learning Group offer a comprehensive training and support programme to cover several areas of technology-enhanced learning.
Our sessions are participatory and interactive. This may include group discussions, small group / paired discussions, or hands-on activities. We are happy to tailor our sessions to a format that suits you.
If you want to discuss any aspects of our training sessions, or would prefer a one-to-one version of any of our sessions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your requirements.
The majority of our sessions are held in E3, the E-learning Training Room in the Aber Academy. The room is fitted with an induction loop, and has window blinds that can be adjusted as well as adjustable lighting. The room can be hot in the summer, so you may wish to bring drinks with you. There is easy access to drinking water and toilets on the same level as the room, and accessible toilets are located a short distance away in the main part of the library. E3 is accessed by entering the Hugh Owen Building by the Language Labs on Level B and proceeding up the stairs to Level E. Use your AberCard to enter via the Salto lock and turn right. E3 is just down the corridor. You may also see signs asking you to be quiet when moving through the Academy as there is a recording studio opposite the Training Room. The Aber Academy is open to all staff and you may also see students using the facilities in the Academy area.
The sessions are organised into three levels:
E-learning Essentials these sessions provide participants with an introduction to different technologies that are available to support staff at Aberystwyth University to assist them in adhering to the University's policies.
E-learning Enhanced - these sessions build on the training offered in the E-learning Essentials sessions and aim to cater for staff members who wish to use the technologies in a more specialised manner.
E-learning Excellence - these sessions aim to support the development of innovative approaches to technology enhanced learning. These sessions involve working closely with our academic partners to support the development and bespoke use of incorporating e-learning technologies.
All training sessions can be booked online.
