IC17720: Academic Writing: Planning, Process and Product 

This module covers both semesters. If you wish to take only one semester of this course, choose IC10210 (Semester 1) or IC10310 (Semester 2). Details follow below.

This module covers aspects of planning, drafting and process writing in relation to critical review of identified academic literature. Week by week students engage in classroom activities and discussion through which they identify critical features, strengths and weaknesses of published papers in their own subject field. IC10210: Academic Writing 1: First year, Semester 1 only:

This module is the same as IC17720, Semester 1

This module covers initial aspects of planning and drafting academic essays. Week by week students engage in classroom activities and discussion through which they identify key issues for writing in their own subject fields. IC10310: Academic Writing 2: First year, Semester 2 only:

IC27720 and IC37820: Effective Academic and Professional Communication 1 and 2

IC27720 is a second year module and IC37820 is a third year module: The two modules are taught together, but depending on your year of study you will register for the year 2 or year 3 option. 

This is a one semester course in communication for team-based project development, which involves a range of different academic communication practices, which include web-site development and writing for the web, communicating in seminars, making presentations and international communication via video conferencing. It may be taken in semester 1 or semester 2.
